About this Event

Discovering one’s values is a pivotal part of personal growth, and living by our values is fundamental to impove our mental wellbeing. In this presentation, attendees will learn how to help clients discover their values through the metaphor of Cutie Marks from My Little Pony. We will explore how values, as defined in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), guide behavior and helps us on our search for meaning and direction. Participants will gain practical skills to integrate this metaphor into therapy, making the process of values clarification more accessible for clients.

Learning Objectives:

1.Understand the role of values in ACT and how values guide behavior.

2.Apply the metaphor of My Little Pony Cutie Marks to facilitate client self-discovery of values.

3.Analyze the journeys of adult and pre-teen characters in the show to illustrate developmental shifts in values.

4.Implement at least two practical ACT techniques to help clients define and live by their values.
