Many helping professionals and educators who use Geek and Gaming culture have presented their work at professional and pop culture conferences around the world, and we thought it was time to have our own.
We acknowledge the wealth of professionals engaging in this work and the unique approaches they offer. It is vitally important to this emergent field to create an event promoting discussion and sharing of ideas to propel the field forward.
TAGGS is for and by helping professionals and educators who use Geek and Gaming culture in their work. These are experts in their fields who have the education and experience required to do the work that they do, but also use aspects of Geek and Gaming culture in their work.
Mental health counselors using video games with clients.
Substance abuse treatment specialist working using metaphors from movies.

If you’re interested in learning more about these topics or connecting with people in this field, please join us!

Yes. TAGG Summits feature experts from various fields showcasing their work and many opportunities for networking.
Sort of. We are focused on the same media and franchises you might find at San Diego Comic-Con or PAX, but our focus is on the professionals and experts using that media. At TAGGS, a game designer may be on a panel with a social worker, but the main topic is the social worker’s use of the game, not the game itself.
And cosplay. We encourage cosplay.
No, but TAGGS is organized by the nonprofit organization Geek Therapy. All proceeds from TAGGS events, after operating costs, go toward supporting Geek Therapy’s mission.
