About this Event

Forensic psychology as a field is often seen as intimidating for many clinicians, especially for those who embrace geek culture in their work. In this session, led by three geek clinicians at the beginning stages of their forensic careers, participants will explore the integration of geek culture into forensic psychology. This quest will see our heroes visit common forensic settings and dialogue about the treatment and assessment of justice-involved clients through the lens of geek culture. Attendees will explore how the integration of geek culture can be applied to diverse settings, client interactions, and the praxis of forensic psychology.

Learning Objectives

  1. Participants will learn how to identify and differentiate three different settings in forensic psychology.
  2. Participants will be able to describe three different representations of forensic psychology within geek culture.
  3. Participants will learn basic principles to guide the application of geek culture to the evaluation of justice-involved clients.
  4. Participants will learn basic principles to guide the application of geek culture into court-ordered treatment.
