A presentation by Hilary Andreff OTR/L (she/her)
About this Event
This session looks at character creation and decision making in a variety of video games and tabletop games and how they can be a vehicle for and enhance values work done in ACT and related therapies.
Learning Objectives:
1. Briefly review principles of values exploration and clarification in ACT. Analyze what makes an effective exercise in these areas and what makes an effective and authentic value for use in therapy.
2. Demonstrate example decision-making and character creation systems in video games and evaluate how they can contribute toward clarifying effective and authentic values, encourage discussion of values in a therapeutic setting, and promote consideration of values in daily life.
3. Demonstrate example decision-making and character creation systems in tabletop games and evaluate how they can contribute toward clarifying effective and authentic values, encourage discussion of values in a therapeutic setting, and promote consideration of values in daily life.
