About this Event

Sometimes taking the step to doing research in the geek and gaming space can be a daunting task with lots of avenues to explore and details to work out before you even get started. We're here to shed some light on the world of research by sharing our own stories and experiences. We are five researchers from across the globe, at different stages in our research journeys. Alongside giving a brief overview of our own research projects, we will be discussing and sharing our experiences with seeking out appropriate supervisors and institutions, developing research design and navigating challenges that may arise during our research journeys. We seek to demystify the experience of doing research in the geek and gaming space, and encourage others to get involved too!

Learning Objectives:
1. Identify different but effective paths toward and experiences with actual applied game/geek research.
2. Predict possible challenges that may arise in doing research, and prepare strategies to overcome these.
3. Develop confidence to undertake your own research in the therapeutic and applied geek and gaming space.
