About this Event
Social media has changed how we connect with others and share bits of ourselves. This may be especially true for the geek/nerd community. The presentation reviews how mental health professionals have become influencers in the past few years. The latest research on how social media affects our mental health and the power influencers can have on the general population will be summarized. We will also explore some things that mental health providers should keep in mind when actively using social media as a community member or a professional.
