About this Event

Using game pieces and miniatures in therapeutic sand tray interventions, both in client centered open ended play sessions and as direction lead structured or guided interventions; the tools themselves, where to get them, how to use them, what to look for, how to document, and how to care for them between sessions.

Learning Objectives:

1. The learner will be able to assess appropriate minis for sand tray interventions by knowing their purpose, possibilities, and assessing their potential problems. (The four Ps)

2. The learner will be able to curate options for open ended client lead play by building on the four Ps, and using WATCH “Wonder, Allow, Track, Choices, Help.”

3. The learner will be able to design a simple intervention using minis with a goal using the simple obstacle method.

4. The learner will be able to self reflect and assess the effectiveness of interventions, documenting client engagement and effectiveness as well as changes for future iterations of intervention.
