Natasha Hooker (She/Her)

Artist, Gamer, Geek on a mission to make games more inclusive and create more ways for little Black boys and girls to imagine themselves.

About this Presenter

A life long gamer, a Game Dev of 6+ years and artist. Natasha Lee (Hooker) is an alumni of Bowie State University originally a biology major she transferred into the VCDMA program (Visual Communications and Digital Media Arts) program. After an unforgettable moment with her Math Professor, she made the switch and never looked back.

Later Natasha would go on to study Game Art at Full Sail University. In the summer of 2013, she and her boyfriend (now husband) decided to go all-in on the pursuit of their dreams in the entertainment/gaming industry, driving cross-country from MD to CA.

In 2014, they started volunteering at the Game Developers Conference in San Francisco. The network built was vital and in 2016 she got her first studio job in QA.

A few games and studios later and she joined Insomniac Games. Her voice was integral in many of the decisions regarding representation and authenticity in Spider-Man: Miles Morales and you can find some of her art while swinging around the city.
