About this Presenter

Lorran Garrison is a licensed school psychologist in California with extensive experience working with diverse communities, including Black, Indigenous, Pacific Islander, and people of color (BIPOC), as well as neurodivergent individuals. They specialize in providing mental health support to marginalized students, including those who identify as transgender or non-binary, and have provided workshops and training on LGBTQ+ cultural competency, trauma-informed care, and social-emotional learning.

Lorran is committed to promoting social justice and equity in their practice and in schools, believing that mental health care is a critical component of academic success and personal growth for all students, especially those who face additional barriers due to their identities. They co-founded Little Brainstorm, a book publisher focused on diversity, equity, and inclusion, as well as social-emotional learning.

Through Little Brainstorm, Lorran hopes to provide resources that promote empathy, understanding, and acceptance of diverse perspectives and identities, helping to create a more inclusive society.
