Lawrence Rubin, Ph.D., ABPP, is a retired Professor of Counselor Education, an adjunct for Nova Southeastern University, and a Diplomate in Clinical Child and Adolescent Psychology(ABPP). He is the Editor for Psychotherapy.net who specializes in working with children, teens and families. He is founding area chair for Psychology, Mental Health and Mental Illness in Popular Culture for the Popular Culture Association, and has edited and co-authored a number journal articles and books at the intersection of popular culture and psychology including, "Using Superheroes and Villains in Play Therapy and Counseling." Dr. Rubin is past Chair of the Board of Directors of the Association for Play Therapy, and has lectured across the country on the use of popular culture, heroes, and superheroes in play therapy.
