Kristy Allen MFA

Kristy Allen holds a Master of Fine Arts in Theatre and is one of the founding members of Second Stage Improv at Michigan State University. Her journey of discovering the transformative power of role-play began during her 13-year career as an educator, where she taught mathematics, theatre, and served as a dyslexia practitioner. This diverse teaching background, combined with her theatre expertise, revealed how dramatic techniques could unlock potential and facilitate behavioral change across multiple learning styles and needs.

A member of the North American Drama Therapy Association, she has completed 150 hours of drama therapy training under the supervision of a Board Certified Drama Therapy Trainer. Kristy founded Playback Now, a virtual theatre company that performs Playback Theatre monthly. As a certified practitioner of The Compassion Method™, she is dedicated to implementing compassionate, trauma-informed approaches in her work with individuals and groups.
