About this Presenter

TTRPGs were the first effective social tool that I had. The reason they work so well, I think, is that they lower social barrier to entry; starting a conversation requires more social skills than an RPG.

I’ve been slowly working towards using games to lower the barrier to entry in other avenues of life, and since I’m an English teacher now, I’m using them for writing.

This whole thing really got started at GenCon 2019, where I had the privilege to attend workshops hosted by the Bodhana Therapy Group. They have demonstrated that it’s possible to use Table-top games to create real, positive change in the world. I wouldn’t have started without them.

Before that I was an elementary school music teacher, an ESL teacher in Korea, a failed journalist and a taxi driver.

I’ve been playing TTRPGs for 34 years, usually as the game master.
