About this Presenter

I am a licensed clinical social worker with over 8 years of clinical experience. I specialize in working with adolescents and young adults and much of my experience has been in working with individuals who have experienced trauma. I’m knowledgeable of the variety of different ways that trauma can manifest within a person, and the unfortunate reality of this being misdiagnosed as ADHD, oppositional behaviors, etc. I'm diagnosed with ADHD myself, and recognize some of the challenges faced by those who struggle with execuctive functioning.

I’m also experienced in helping individuals who are experiencing depression and anxiety related symptoms.

I've had the honor of working with the community impacted by the STEM School Shooting in Highlands Ranch since the shooting occurred in the fall of 2019. I began this work, as part of a community mental health's disaster response team, and continued to do so in multiple grant funded roles. Working with this population, on addressing trauma, while advocating for them among the myriad of continued school shootings that cease to stop, continues to be a difficult, but incredibly rewarding position.

I believe in using a variety of different therapeutic techniques tailored to each individual. I am trained to provide EMDR, as well as, a certified in TF-CBT and Daring Way Facilitator (Brené Brown’s shame resiliency training).

Building rapport is an integral part of successful therapy. I find that my varied interests make this easier for many of the people that I work with. I'd be just as happy discussing sports (whether it be my beloved Michigan State Spartans, Arsenal, or the despair it is to be a Lions fan), Dungeons and Dragons (I'm both a DM and a level 4 Paladin), Music, Books (Fantasy is my favorite), video games, or snowboarding. Barkley, my Goldendoodle, who assists me in therapy helps with this as well.
