The Therapeutic and Applied Geek and Gaming Summit (TAGGS) is a live professional conference celebrating the world of helping professionals and educators who use Geek and Gaming culture in their work.
TAGGS IV is April 19-21, 2024. Events begin each day at 9:00 AM PT.
TAGGS IV is a virtual event and will be hosted entirely on this website. We will use Zoom software for all presentations.
Many helping professionals and educators who use Geek and Gaming culture have presented their work at professional and pop culture conferences around the world, and we thought it was time to have our own.
We acknowledge the wealth of professionals engaging in this work and the unique approaches they offer. It is vitally important to this emergent field to create an event promoting discussion and sharing of ideas to propel the field forward.
TAGGS is for and by helping professionals and educators who use Geek and Gaming culture in their work. These are experts in their fields who have the education and experience required to do the work that they do, but also use aspects of Geek and Gaming culture in their work.

TAGGS makes all recordings available for free, one year after the live event, when they are added to The Vault. To view the most recent TAGGS recording you can purchase a Media Pass. Visit https://taggs.geektherapy.org/tickets to get a free Vault Pass or purchase a Media Pass.
Yes. TAGG Summits feature experts from various fields showcasing their work and many opportunities for networking.
Sort of. We are focused on the same media and franchises you might find at San Diego Comic-Con or PAX, but our focus is on the professionals and experts using that media. At TAGGS, a game designer may be on a panel with a social worker, but the main topic is the social worker’s use of the game, not the game itself.
And cosplay. We encourage cosplay.
No, but TAGGS is organized by the nonprofit organization Geek Therapy. All proceeds from TAGGS events, after operating costs, go toward supporting Geek Therapy’s mission.

Yes! A 50% student discount is available exclusively for students and pre-licensed professionals.

TAGGS IV live presentations will provide 1.5 CE credits each. If you attend a presentation at every session, you can earn up to 18 CE credits over the weekend.
Media Pass recordings are not eligible for CE credits, but some recordings will be available for purchase with CE credits on our learning platform at a later date.
Geek Therapy has been approved by NBCC as an Approved Continuing Education Provider, ACEP No. 7507. Programs that do not qualify for NBCC credit are clearly identified. Geek Therapy is solely responsible for all aspects of the programs.

Presenters may receive one discounted TAGGS 2024 Live Pass upon approval of their proposal. Presenter discounts are tiered discounts and offered at 75% discount, 50% discount, and 25% discount. Presenters may choose which discount suits their own financial situation.
If you are experiencing a financial hardship please reach out to [email protected] and we will work with you to accommodate your needs.
If a presenter purchases a ticket before their proposal is accepted, they may request a refund and will receive a refund of the discounted amount (you keep the ticket and will receive a refund).
Volunteers may be eligible for a free ticket, depending on their role.
Funds generated from TAGGS are used to continue to support the event, operating costs, and to support the non-profit – Geek Therapy.
